The “Master of Education in Educational Sciences” program at the University of Cologne is targeted towards students who intend to teach at primary schools. Over the course of 4 semesters, the degree integrates courses from many faculties and learning environments, including university and practical school teacher training institutions. The second semester is set aside for the practical semester, which will include the school as a learning place as well as centers for practical school teacher training. Registration takes place in the previous semester. A Bachelor's degree with a "suitable teaching qualification" and "suitable" subjects, and evidence of at least 144 relevant credit points from completed modules are admission requirements.
