The “Master of Arts in Educational Science: General Educational Science” program at the University of Cologne is with a length of 4 full-time semesters. The course's content and objectives are based on key and contemporary educational science research subjects. The high degree of research relevance allows to obtain a systematic grasp of educational scientific theories and to interact with educational science objects autonomously, as well as to critically reflect on the prerequisites, processes, and objectives of educational practice. The focus is on education and training ideas, phenomena, and models of education in the historical, cultural, and social contexts of their inception and evolution. There are many methodologies and models for exploring educational difficulties. Admission requirements include a Bachelor's degree with at least 60 CP in the subject of educational science.
