The “Master of Arts in Ethnology” program at the University of Cologne offers a research-oriented education that deals with human culture in general and the individual cultures of different regions of the world in particular on an empirical basis. During 4 full-time semesters, the course primarily aims to explain culture in all places and at all times. The master's degree program conveys a wide range of key skills that can be used widely in sociocultural research and knowledge transfer, as well as in science-related fields of work: excellent cross-cultural competence, deep analytical judgment, networked thinking, and the thoughtful handling of scientific theories, methods, and knowledge. Admission requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Ethnology, Social Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology with 40 relevant CP, English B2 and another modern foreign language A2.
