The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in German” is offered by University of Cologne. It amounts to 6 semesters and must be studied in combination. During the course, students learn how to analyze linguistic and literary phenomena. Moreover, they acquire subject-related didactic competencies in relation to subject-related learning. Upon graduation, graduates are able to build successful careers at secondary and comprehensive schools. However, for admission, level B1 in one language is required, level A2 GER in another language, as well as a sufficient knowledge of English.
