Description


The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in German” is offered by University of Cologne. The latter amounts to 6 semesters. The course of study must be combined with the following subjects: a compulsory core subject, a further subject or a core subject or a special education subject in German is studied as a core subject. During the program, participants acquire Germanic specialist knowledge. Moreover, they learn how to analyze linguistic, literary and media concepts in terms of their historical and cultural conditions. In the course Modern German Literature, students gain analytical techniques and skills. German linguistics conveys the theoretical basics, whereas Older German language and literature introduces the students to the historical dimensions of the German language. During the advanced module in German, basics of the language and writing didactics are covered.
