The University of Cologne's "Master of Arts in Information Processing" program teaches students how to design and utilize information processing systems freely and creatively, with data and problems drawn from the humanities and cultural sciences. The concentration might be on linguistic or historical-cultural-scientific information processing throughout the course of four semesters. The information technology portion of the course employs English as the technical language and mostly consists of autonomous computer work. Depending on the expertise, the abilities learned in current software technology are applied to natural language data or multimedia data. A bachelor's degree in information processing, computer linguistics, computer science, text technology, computer philology, or media computer science with 60 relevant LP, as well as knowledge of software technology for programming in an object-oriented programming language, are required for admission.
