The “Master of Arts in Linguistics” program at the University of Cologne is with a length of 4 full-time semesters. The program combines a comprehensive methodological and theoretical education with specialization options in general linguistics, English linguistics, computational linguistics, German linguistics, historical-comparative linguistics, Dutch linguistics, phonetics, Romance linguistics, writing and script acquisition, Slavic linguistics, language acquisition and language (developmental) disorders, and language processing (psycho- and neurolinguistics). Admission requirements include a bachelor’s degree in linguistics, phonetics, individual language philology with a linguistic focus, other unrelated subjects (musicology, psychology, information processing, communication science, physics) with 20 relevant LP, and English C1.
