The “Master of Arts in Media Culture Studies” program at the University of Cologne is divided into seven modules. The merger of theatrical studies and media culture studies, which has a long heritage at the Cologne institution, is the focus of four semesters. Students design and implement projects autonomously under the guidance of lecturers in a project module. The topic must be coupled with a second subject from the Phil. Faculty's series of two-subject Masters. Admission requirements include a bachelor’s degree in media culture sciences, media science or in a humanities or cultural studies subject with no significant differences in content, scope and requirements (with at least 50 relevant CP) minimum grade 1.7.
