The University of Cologne offers the "Master of Education in Philosophy/Practical Philosophy" degree with a focus on teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. Over the course of four semesters, the degree incorporates courses from several faculties and learning environments, such as universities and practical school teacher training institutions. In the second semester, there will be a practical semester that includes the school as a learning environment as well as centers for practical school teacher training. A Bachelor's degree with "suitable teaching certification" and "compatible" fields, as well as verification of at least 144 relevant credit points from completed courses, are all required for admission.
