The “Master of Science in Physics” program at the University of Cologne is with a length of 4 full-time semesters. The curriculum is divided into required and elective sections, with the latter incorporating two research-based core courses from the Cologne physics spectrum. All laboratory courses, the optional area, primary and secondary areas of concentration, and the M.Sc. thesis project can be planned flexibly, but the lecture courses on Advanced Quantum Mechanics and Advanced Statistical Physics are only given in the winter term. A Bachelor of Science in Physics or a similar certification is required for admission to the Master's program.
