The University of Cologne offers the "Master of Education in Politics" curriculum with a focus on vocational college teaching. Over the course of four full-time semesters, a combination of lectures and extensive hands-on training is used to offer technical and didactic skills. A practical semester of at least 5 months in the chosen themes and a kind of school that corresponds to the planned teaching career is completed during the second semester of the master's degree. All applicants must have a Bachelor's degree, as well as evidence of 144 suitable credit points from completed courses, "accepted teaching certification," and "compatible" fields.
