The University of Cologne's "Master of Education in Protestant Religious Education" curriculum lasts four semesters. The degree includes courses from numerous faculties and learning contexts, including university, practical school teacher training centers (ZfsL), and schools, and is intended for teaching at lower secondary, secondary modern and comprehensive schools. A Protestant Religious Education course is offered by the Institute for Protestant Theology.
