Description
The “Master of Arts in Theories and Practices of Professional Writing” program at the University of Cologne is focused on examining various culture-related forms of writing. The course covers both literary and non-literary (pragmatic) forms of texts, which will be studied in terms of cultural studies, media theory, and cognitive science in terms of their creation, tradition, and relevance in today's media environment. The goal of the course is to combine historical-theoretical and practical writing techniques. Admission requirements include a bachelor’s degree with at least 40 relevant LP in philological, literary, media studies, history, art history, philosophy, ethnology or musicology, with a minimum grade of 2.5, and a passed writing test.
