Water Resources Management teaches students how to plan, distribute, manage and develop the earth’s water resources. Water is essential to sustain life and maintain ecosystems. Climate change is continually affecting the development of water bodies, and pollution and over exploitation are serious problems causing environmental changes. Various methods and scientific techniques can be used to help fight them and protect the water resources. Students can learn about sustainability, water conservation, water monitoring, macro- and microeconomics, entrepreneurship, biological sciences, ecology, natural resources economics, natural resources policy and law. Water Resources Management programs incorporate theory and practical hands-on experiences to give students extensive knowledge and preparation for a career in the field. Students can practice sampling water to test its quality, monitoring water and gathering data for further analysis and research. Graduates are rich in career options. They can find work in hydrology, resource management, consulting for agencies, planning, geology, meteorology, environmental protection, conservation, project management, water resources engineering, water monitoring and testing, analyzing and many others.
