The University of Erfurt, re-founded in 1994, is a public university seated in Erfurt, Thüringen that accomodates round about 5,700 students. In addition to the undergraudate Magister degree course “Catholic Theology“, the University offers Bachelor and Master programs at four faculties and in the respective fields of study/departments: the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences (Economics, Social Sciences, Law, Willy Brand School of Public Policy), the Faculty of Philosophy (History, Media and Communication Studies, Literary Studies, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Linguistics), the Faculty of Education (General Education and Empirical Research, Vocational Education Studies/On-the-job Training/Adult Education, Protestant Theology, Primary School Education/Childhood Research, Art, Music, Psychology, School Pedagogy, Special Education and Social Pedagogy, Physical Education, Technical Studies and Industrial Development, and the Faculty of Catholic Theology (Philosophy, Ancient Church History, Patrology, and Eastern Church Studies; Medieval and Contemporary Church History, Old Testament Exegesis and Theology, New Testament Exegesis and Theology, Christian Social Science, Fundamental Theology and Religious Studies, Dogmatics, Moral Theology and Ethics, Liturgical Studies, Pastoral Theology and Pedagogy of Religion, Church Law, Christian World View, Religious and Cultural Theory). The scope of course offerings also includes continuing education programs, among them certificate courses, extra-occupational part-time courses, and the four-semester continuing education Master program “Master of Public Policy“.
