The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, founded in Bayreuth in 1742 and shifted to Erlangen in 1743, is a public university seated in Erlangen, Bavaria. It has another location in Nuremberg. With nearly 40,000 students, the Univrsity of Erlangen-Nuremberg belongs to the top 10 of the largest universities in Germany. Prospective students are offered 263 study courses at five faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, thre Faculty of Sciences (Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Department of Geography and Geology, Department of Mathematics, Department of Physics), the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology (Classical World and Asian Cultures, English Studies/American Studies and Romance Studies, Teaching Methodology, German Studies and Comparative Literature, History, Islamic-Religious Studies, Media Studies and Art History, Education Science, Psychology and Sports Science, Social Sciences and Philosophy, Theology), the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, and the Faculty of Engineering (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering; Department of Electrical, Eletronic and Communication Engineering; Department of Computer Science, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Materials Science). Complementary to the range of full-time courses are the extra-occupational courses “Business Management“ (MBA), “Health Business Administration“ (MHMM), “Health Business Administration“ (MHBA), “Computer Science/IT Security“ (B.Sc.), “Sports Sciences“ (B.A.), “Human Rights“ (M.A.), “Marketing Management“ (MMM), “Multimedia Didactics“ (M.A), and “Organizational and Personnel Development“ (M.A.).
