The University of Fine Arts Münster, founded in 1971, is a public art school seated in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia. More than 300 students are enrolled at the University. The scope of course offerings, on the one hand, includes the ten-semester Diploma degree course “Fine Arts“, which is divided into a two-semester basic studies period and an eight-semester main studies period. It covers the following fields of study: “Artistic Studies“, “History of Art“, and “Other Art-Related Sciences“. Also included is a potential teacher training course taught in cooperation with the University of Münster, which leads to a B.Ed. and M.Ed, respectively. The University of Fine Arts Münster provides teacher training courses for grammar schools/high schools, comprehensive schools, elementary schools, as well as lower and intermediate secondary schools. Entitled to grant doctoral degrees, the Academy offers a doctoral degree program in a scientific subject as well. Prerequisite for studying at the University of Fine Arts Münster is the completion of an aptitude test.
