The “Master of Fine Arts” program at HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg has a standard period of study of 4 academic semesters. The course is highly practice-oriented, with workshops and trainings taking place, enabling students to develop a professional approach to forms of presentation and distribution processes. The students deepen and differentiate their artistic and scientific skills. They are taught how to use specific manual methods by means of which they expose, refine and develop their artistic ideas. The following concentrations are possible: sculpture, stage space, design, movie, graphics/photography/typography, painting/drawing, theory and history, and time-related media. At the end of their studies, they present their work which is documented in a publication.
