The University of Greifswald is a public university seated in Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Founded in 1456, it belongs to the oldest higher education institutions in Central Europe. More than 10,000 students from 90 different countries participate in study programs in the fields of Language and Cultural Sciences, Law, Economic and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, and Medicine/Health. The University of Greifswald is split into five faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law and Economics, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Aside from Bachelor and Master degree courses, teacher education degree courses and other State Examination courses, the University offers the three Diploma degree courses “Business Administration“, “Protestant Theology“, and “Church Music“, as well as a number of postgraduate and continuing education courses (e.g., “Aesthetic Laser Medicine“, “Digital Dental Technology“, “Dental Prothetics“).
