Stage and Costume Designers deal with the creation and production of concepts, visuals, costumes and overall appearance of people and sets in theatre, television, cinema and other media outlets. Creating the right atmosphere is very important for any production and Stage and Costume Design students can learn to do that. They study subjects like Set Design, Theatre Practice, Costume Construction, Lighting for Dramaturgy, Sound Design, Scenic Art and Theatre History, and there is focus on practically applying the learned methods and techniques through projects and internships in theatrical, musical, television and film productions. Graduates are expected to have acquired a range of design skills, work experience, a rich portfolio, the ability to work in teams and collaborate, manage their resources, creatively solve issues, come up with new ideas and solutions, and be prepared, determined and motivated. Stage and Costume Design graduates have the opportunity to work in theater venues, on film and television sets, as costume designers, stage managers, set designers, assistants in large projects and many more.
