Elementary Mathematics degree programs typically teach subjects like Number and Operation, Rational Numbers and Proportional Thinking, Modeling, Data and Probability, Algebraic Reasoning, Geometry and Measurement, Leadership and Analysis of Teaching Children, Theories of Learning and Teaching Mathematics, and Assessing Cognitive, Conceptual and Fluency Structures Related to Learning and Teaching Mathematics. Students in Elementary Mathematics gain in-depth theoretical knowledge and teaching methods and techniques, which they have the opportunity to apply in practice through individual and group projects and research. Elementary Mathematics degree courses provide students with excellent pedagogical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate and apply mathematical concepts in innovative ways, assess children’s skills and aid their educational growth. Potential careers for Elementary Mathematics graduates include elementary and secondary school teacher, tutor, scientific researcher, director of curriculum and more.
