Description
Christian Albrecht University of Kiel offers the degree program “Master of Science in Climate Physics: Meteorology and Physical Oceanography”, which lasts for 4 semesters and is ideally suited for applicants who have an aptitude for a mathematical-abstract way of thinking. The degree is divided into three areas, namely the compulsory, compulsory elective and the area of specialization. During the course of study, candidates are introduced to laws of the physics of the atmosphere and the ocean as well as the climate system. One of the prerequisites for this program is having a very good mathematical and physical school knowledge. The course comes to an end following a Master’s thesis with 25 credit points in the fourth semester. Following graduation, candidates can find work in areas such as German Weather Service or indulge in research and teaching in environmentally-oriented large research institutions and at universities.
