Description
The two-subject degree program “Master of Arts in Comparative Slavic Studies” is offered at the University of Kiel for 4 semesters. Studies begin in the winter and summer semester and candidates who have an interest in scientific work are a suitable choice for this course. Language, literature, and culture will be taught to the students in the present and the recent history of Poland, Russia, and the Czech Republic. Using Russian, Polish and Czech as a starting point, students will learn the linguistic foundations of the Slavic languages. As a result of the literary concentration, applicants get access to cultural and literary approaches, as well as historical and comparative themes. As part of their studies, students will examine the connections between the Polish, Russian, and Czech literatures taught at the institution and other European literary traditions.
