The University of Kiel offers the degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Subject Supplement Profile)”, which begins in the winter semester and has a duration of 6 semesters. It qualifies students for further study in the Master's program as well as for employment. Students will gain the essential background and overview knowledge in the five sub-disciplines of Germany's political system, comparative government, international relations, European integration, as well as political philosophy and the history of ideas. On chosen political topics, a problem-oriented and theoretically sound examination is the emphasis of the department's courses. At the end of their studies students receive 110 credit points and career-wise they can be employed in areas of politics and administration or in non-governmental organizations.
