Description
The University of Kiel offers the degree program “Master of Arts in School Management and Quality Development” for a period of 2 years and studies begin in the winter and summer semester. The goal of this postgraduate degree is to give students with in-depth understanding of school management and quality improvement in schools based on current research, as well as the capacity to apply this to recognised and emerging challenges of leadership work in schools. Students study the fundamentals of educational leadership, applicable techniques and findings of empirical school and teaching research, as well as quality management, people management, communication, and organisational management. Students also get access to a variety of scientific theories and instructional techniques through this fee-based advanced training or distance-learning course. The number of credit points received at the end of the 4th semester amounts to 60 and following graduation students can perform management activities in schools, ministries or educational institutes.
