The University of Koblenz and Landau, founded in 1990, is a public university with locations in Koblenz, and Landau. Accomodating more than 15,700 students, it is the second-largest university of Rhineland Palatinate. The University offers a wide range of predominantly extra-occupational Bachelor and Master programs at the following eight faculties: the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences, the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Psychology. Moreover, the University of Koblenz and Landau is the only higher education institution throughout Rhineland Palatinate to offer teacher education programs for all types of schools. Among the study programs unrelated to teaching are a number of continuing education (correspondence) programs as well. Being an internationally oriented university, the University of Koblenz and Landau offers several international Master degree programs, including “Biogeosciences“, “Chemistry and Physics of Functional Materials“, “Exotoxicology“, “Information Management“, “Mathematical Modeling of Complex Systems“, “Environmental Sciences“, and “Web Science“.
