Offered by the University of Konstanz the “Bachelor of Education in English (Secondary Education)” is with a duration of six semesters. The program consists of literary, linguistic and language skills modules and teaches how to analyse and reflect critically on the literatures and cultures of the English-speaking world such as in Great Britain, Ireland, USA, Canada, post-colonial cultures of the Commonwealth. The prospective students will be introduced to various methodologies from literary theory, literary history as well as cultural studies and cultural theory and deal systematically with the structure and history of the English language with core areas phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, courses on language acquisition, on the English varieties and more.
