Offered by the University of Konstanz the degree program “Master of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology” is with a duration of four semesters. The anthropological part of the program focuses on non-Western cultures and societies while the sociological part contributes important theoretical and methodological aspects. Graduates acquire competencies in comparative cultural and social analysis, learn to analyze and explore the ethnological and sociological theories. The program imparts knowledge of European and non-European social contexts as well as cultural peculiarities with comprehensive ethnological and sociological-methodological knowledge through practice-oriented learning in order to be able to apply the specifically empirical facts. The participants form an understanding of cultural similarities and differences in a global context, as well as relativity and historical conditionality of human ways of life.
