“Bachelor of Arts in Italian Literature” is provided by the University of Konstanz with a total length of six semesters. The course includes literary, linguistic and language skills modules while the focus primarily falls on the academic analysis and interpretation of literature written in Italian. During the course, the participants will be introduced to various methodologies from literary theory, literary history as well as cultural studies and cultural theory with core areas phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, language acquisition, Italian varieties and more. During the course of their studies, students are taught the general basics in several compulsory courses, expand and deepen the subject-specific competencies such as fluent command of the Italian language, spoken and written, the ability to describe linguistic structures of Italian and their historical derivation, genre poetics, scientific working techniques and literary theories.
