Description
The film industry has grown immensely over the past decade, and with recent trends in digitalization and technological development, it has no intention of slowing down. Film Studies explore the history, cultural impact and criticism of films. They deal with various approaches and analyze films in different ways. Students have the opportunity to study subjects like Critical Writing, Classical Hollywood Cinema, European Cinema, Story Development, Curating Film and Video, Contemporary Theories, Historical Contexts of Film, Film Philosophy, Film Adaptation and various film genres, and also conduct extensive research in the field. A Film Studies degree course gives students thorough understanding of the film industry and endows them with problem-solving, creative-thinking, analytical, research, innovative and writing skills, as well as the ability to work in individual or group projects. Through practical classes, students can gain experience in working behind and in front of the camera and in the editing room. Graduates find employment in various positions – publisher, advertising director, marketing executive, broadcaster, director, editor, distributor, scriptwriter, teacher, film journalist, theatre technician, film producer, editorial assistant, and many more.
