The course “Master of Music in Song Design - consecutive” at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig runs over four semesters. The program aims to prepare students for a professional career as song accompanist. Students gain a thorough knowledge of the song repertoire and its cultural and literary basis. The course curriculum includes the following topics: Vocal accompaniment, Teaching class accompaniment or solo accompaniment, Lied interpretation and Piano chamber music or instrumental accompaniment. In the end, students will take an exam in which they will have to perform samples from opera, operetta and oratorio, as well as perform two songs with a partner.
