The degree program “Master of Education in English (Teaching at Lower Secondary, Secondary Modern, Secondary and Comprehensive Schools)“ is a German-taught program with a duration of 4 semesters. It builds on the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Paderborn. The focal point of the program is to solidify the knowledge of students and introduce them to more complex matters. The curriculum includes advanced courses in English as a teaching subject, a second subject, Educational Sciences, Subject Didactics, and German for immigrant students. The MEd is application-oriented and provides participants with hands-on experience and professional core competencies. Furthermore, the program promotes personal growth and the development of soft skills such as teamwork, communication and organisation, moderation, etc. Graduates are prepared to become English teachers.
