The teacher training course “Master of Education in English (Teaching at Special Education“ is four semesters long and taught in German. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Paderborn. The focal point of the program is to solidify the knowledge of students and provide them with extensive practice work. The curriculum includes multifaceted courses in Subject Science and Subject Didactics in English and a further subject, Emotional and Social Development, Learning, and Educational Sciences. The MEd is application-oriented and teaches participants how to implement a holistic approach to challenging situations. Through various case studies and group projects, students acquire key competencies and practical relevance needed for a successful career. Upon completion of the program, graduates are qualified to become English teachers at special education instituitons.
