The “Bachelor of Education in Home Economics (Teaching at Lower Secondary, Secondary Modern, Secondary and Comprehensive Schools)” is a 6-semester program conducted in German. Throughout their education, students will focus on Science and Subject Didactics in Housekeeping and a further subject, Educational Sciences, as well as German for immigrant students. Additionally, participants can diversify their studies by undertaking elective modules. Through various group projects and application-oriented seminars, they’ll gain hands-on experience as well as professional core competencies. Furthermore, the program promotes the development of soft skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and organisation, moderation, etc. The BEd qualifies graduates to pursue teaching positions in Home Economics or further their education with a subsequent Master’s degree.
