The teacher training program “Master of Education in Home Economics (Teaching at Lower Secondary, Secondary Modern, Secondary and Comprehensive Schools)“ for is a 4-semester program taught in German. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at the University of Paderborn. The aim of the program is to further the knowledge of participants and introduce them to more complex matters. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses with a focus on Didactics and Methodology in Housekeeping and a second subject, Vocational Pedagogy, and German for immigrant students. The MEd provides participants with application-oriented case studies and seminars that prepare them for the challenging environment of the profession. They’ll learn how to implement their vast knowledge into practice and build a strong career. Graduates are qualified to assume teaching positions in Home Economics.
