The University of Regensburg, founded in 1962, is a public university seated in Regenburg, Bavaria. It is comprised of eleven faculties: the Faculty of Catholic Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Business, Economics, Management Information Systems, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Philosophy, Art History, History and Humanities, the Faculty of Psychology, Education, and Sport Science, the Faculty of Languages, Literature, and Cultures, the Faculty of Mathematics, the Faculty of Physics, the Faculty of Biology and Pre-Clinical Medicine, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy. Prospective students can choose from a range of 160 subjects. More than 21,000 students are enrolled at the University in undergraduate Bachelor and consecutive Master as well as State Examination programs. Depending on the respective program, graduates of the University of Regensbug receive a B.A., B.Sc., B.Ed., M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed, and Mag.Theol.. While study programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree usually involve only one subject, study programs in the field of humanities, which lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree, typically involve one major subject and two minor subjects, or two major subjects. The University also provides teacher education programs for primary schools, middle schools, as well as intermediate secondary and grammar schools.
