The University of Rostock, founded in 1419, is a public university seated in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It accomodates ten faculties: the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, the Theological Faculty, the Faculty of Medicine (University Medicine), the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Research. The University provides some 13,800 students with an academic education in more than 100 study courses, 34 Bachelor courses, 50 Master courses, more than 30 teacher training courses, as well as several State Examination and doctoral degree courses. In terms of continuing education, the University offers the extra-occupational Master correspondence courses “Environment Protection“, “Education and Sustainability“, “Media and Education“, as well as “Technical Communication“. The scope of continuing education opportunities also involves certificate and online courses. As for international programs, the University offers the English-taught courses “Computational Science and Engineering“, “Electrical Engineering“, and “Physics of Life, Light and Matter“. Depending on the respective program, the following degrees can be acquired at the University of Rostock: B.A., B.Sc., B.Ed., LL.B., Mag.theol., M.A., M.Sc., M.Ed., and LL.M..
