The University of Teacher Education Schaffhausen, founded in 2003, is a public institution of higher education seated in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Round about 150 students are trained there as teachers at pre-primary and primary level. On offer are three study programs, namely: “Pre-Primary Level“ (Teaching Diploma/B.A. in Pre-Primary Education), “Pre-Primary and Primary Level“ (Teaching Diploma/B.A. in Pre-Primary and Primary Education“), as well as “Primary Level“ (Teaching Diploma/B.A. in Primary Education). The study offer covers the following fields of study: German, German as a Second Language, Didactics of Writing/Mathematics/Nature, Man, Society/Foreign Languages: English and French/Movement and Physical Education/Design: Visual Design, Technical Design, Textile Design/Music, Instrumental Teaching, Rhythmics/Media and Computer Science. The scope of continuing education offers is comprised of continuative courses and the continuing education programs “School Development“ (M.A.), “Pedagogic ICT Support“ (CAS), as well as “In-Service Teacher Training“ (CAS).
