The University of Teacher Education Wallis, founded in 2000, is a public institution of higher education with locations in Brig-Glis (headquarters), and St. Maurice. It trains students as teachers in the tertiary sector. The University offers the following study programs: “Primary Level“ (Teaching Diploma/B.A. in PrePrimary and Primary Education HEP-VS), “Secondary Level I“ (Teaching Diploma/M.A./M.Sc. in Secondary Education), “Secondary Level II“ (Teaching Diploma), “Secondary Level I–II“ (Teaching Diploma), as well as “Remedial Education“ (Diploma in Special Education, specialization in Remedial Education/M.A. in Special Education). Added to this are further training and continuing education courses.
