The Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin, founded in 1946, is a public art school in Berlin with more than 800 students. The scope of studies offered includes the Bachelor and consecutive Master programs “Product Design“ (B.A./M.A.), “Fashion Design“ (B.A./M.A.), “Textile and Surface Design“ (B.A./M.A.), and “Visual Communication“ (B.A./M.A.). Added to this are the post-graduate Master degree courses “Art Therapy“ (M.A.), “Spatial Strategies“ (M.A.), as well as the Diploma courses “Painting“, “Sculpture“, and “Stage and Costume Design“. Study applicants have to undergo a two-step admission procedure, which is made up of a pre-selection (portfolio) and an entrance examination.
