Delsberg is home to the headquarters of Switzerland’s largest institute of higher vocational training, namely the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO). Founded in 1998 with only 4,200 students, the university has experienced a significant growth and is proud to have nearly 21,000 students nowadays. Currently the university is divided into six faculties spread across seven cantons in Western Switzerland. Since 2016, Delsberg is home to a brand new campus with modern laboratories, practical rooms, classrooms and a media library located minutes away from the lively city center. HES-SO offers Bachelor and Master degree courses in the following fields of study: Design and Fine Arts/Visual Arts, Economy, Management and Services, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences, Health, Music and Performing Arts and Social Work.
