The public transport within the city consists of city buses operating throughout a very well-developed network connecting all parts of Horgen. Traveling to and from Horgen to other cities within Switzerland is also hassle-free thanks to the good road and railway network that connects Horgen to other, major cities like Zürich, Basel, Zug, and Luzern.

In Horgen one can find the Zürich campus of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), established in 1994 by the Chinese government and the European Union.
