Former capital of the state of Hesse, Kassel nowadays remain an important economic and cultural center in the heart of Germany. The public transport network in Kassel is comprised of buses, trams and light rail, with the latter running on tram and railway tracks. STUDYING IN KASSEL

There are two higher education institutes in Kassel, namely the University of Kassel, and the privately owned International YMCA University of Applied Sciences. Both universities carry an excellent reputation but the main one in the city is undoubtedly the University of Kassel, which has more than 23,000 students and ten faculties, including the semi-autonomous Kassel Art Academy.
