The study program “Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting/Photography/Digital Media” offered by Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences wants to help students create and develop their own unique visual language in the realm of modern fine arts. As much as the teaching of technical, physical, and theoretical abilities, the course of study emphasizes independent work, desire to experiment, and personal responsibility of the students. Hands-on work is combined with cooperative conversations, discussions, and colloquia to create personal creative approach, which is supported with theoretical courses and colloquia. The capacity to reflect on a personal creative viewpoint and integrate it in a larger social and cultural context is also emphasized. The curriculum can be finished with as a full-time program lasting six semesters or as part-time lasting ten semesters. The program is arranged in modules, each of which is completed with an examination.
