The certificate course „Work at Waldorf Schools” at Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences is in the form of a two-year, extra- occupational certificate course that includes attendance phases (block weeks and weekends) and phases of self-study as well as a four-week school internship. The course aims to impart knowledge and skills that are necessary as a factory teacher at Waldorf schools. By working intensively on the fundamentals of anthropology, a deeper understanding of the developmental steps in children and adolescents and their implementation in the curriculum should be achieved. The course is aimed at future teachers of handicrafts and at existing teachers who require further qualification. In both cases, practical training in handicrafts completed with the journeyman's examination (e.g. carpenter, or joiner) is a prerequisite.
