The Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin offers the part-time distance learning course “Master of Arts in Social Management” that is aimed at students with a first professional university degree (Bachelor, Diploma, Magister with 180 to 210 credit points) and at least one year of professional experience. This course enables the students to act responsibly towards society and the clients of social work. Thus, the students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge, lead and manage different social institutions, as well as to develop an understanding of organizational structures in a social, economic and political contexts. The skills and qualifications that will be gained by the individuals throughout this course are connected with analytical and diagnostic skills, competence in the interdisciplinary explanation of relationships and structures, competence in social accounting (problem solving, quality, efficiency), as well as interaction and communication skills, reflective skills and personally justifiable competence.
