The study program “Acting” at the Berlin University of Arts is an eight-semester program in four interrelated areas of study: Scene and Movement, Breath, Voice and Speech, Theater Studies and Dramaturgy. Traditional forms of performing art alone can no longer withhold modern acting art’s eclectic nature, so the degree program is committed to guiding future professionals through exploratory, interdisciplinary formative modules, a laboratory for individualized methods, techniques, tools and styles. The differentiated avant-garde performance repertoires draw upon open-ended crafting and experimental arrangements, so encounters with other disciplines and departments have been implemented in the program. It prepares students for acting both in theater and in the media, with focus on German-language presentational forms. All application deadlines are to be fully respected. Applicants perform a pre-selected by the commission performance task sample for the entrance exam.
