A prerequisite for application to the six-semester in “Art and Media” program at the Berlin University of Arts is at least four semesters in an artistic study course with focus on audio-visual media. Those who complete it successfully and with merit can opt for further Masterclass studies for another two semesters. Time-based, computer-generated visual media, and their artistic realisation is the cornerstone of the studies. In order to be considered, applicants should give evidence of their outstanding artistic talents in the form of a creative and artistic portfolio of several independent works: film, video, computer and generative art, or, if done in cooperation with other artists, their share should be clearly recognizable. “Meisterschüler” studies build on the final project work of the previous study, but are not identical to it. The individual project is further developed under the supervision of a university teacher of the program "Art and Media".
