The four-semester 120-credit Master of Arts program “Artistic-Pedagogical Education Music” at the University of Arts in Berlin is for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree in music. It covers four focus areas of study – Music Theory, elementary Music pedagogy, Choir and Ensemble Conducting. Students acquire the necessary qualifications for the profession of a school teacher in music schools, other public institutions or the private sector. Specializations define the specific content of the studies, and these could be instrument and vocal tuition, music theory, vocal and instrument ensembles, or other group forms. Apart from academic and artistic courses, practical training in music schools in Berlin and Brandenburg is included in the curriculum. Knowledge of German is required.
