Description
The Berlin University of Arts offers the four-semester, 120 ECTS degree program “Master of Music Instrumental Soloist”, which is structured into two compulsory modules of studies: main instrument and minor subjects (correpetition and chamber music). Eligibility criteria include a Bachelor degree in orchestral instruments from the Berlin University of the Arts or comparable study course at another university, as well as knowledge of German. Students build on their musical mastery as instrumental soloist and all necessary preparation to be able to perform independently. The degree program can be focused either on early or modern music. Modules end in examinations, the passing of which prove the artistic achievements of the students. Subjects include Correpetition and Chamber music, Ensemble conducting, Music physiology, Music anagement, Instrumental Pedagogy, Choir, Interpretation and Literature Studies, which, in the major "Early Music" encompass literature up to about 1800, and in the major "New Music" - literature after 1950.
